Please help cold sore issues ?

I had a cold sore and it swell up my whole right side of lip and this occured for three days before I went to the hospital and they felt I had a bacterial infection and really bad cold sore and prescribed me meds. Well yesterday I was crying all day from the pain. Ice packs only helps a little but the swelling would come back bigger than ever. I fell asleep and woke up at 2 am and it was oozing out. So I figure it busted and I clean it but its still oozing and my lip looks like my lip now looks like it is cut open with the stuff oozing out. What can I do?

One supplement that helps with canker or cold sores is lysine. It is an amino acid that helps your immune system to fight infection. It's not expensive, and only requires a couple per day, when sores are present, and one every day or two, when they aren't.

As for cleaning it, try to use a mixture of baking soda and soap. This will sanitize the surface of the sore, and keep it from getting further infected, as well as drying it out a little. Try to do this gently a few times a day, and it should help reduce the swelling and inflammation.

You can suck on the lysine tablets, and that will deliver it a little more quickly into your system. It'll taste like chalk, but it should also immediately reduce the inflammation in about an hour or less.
