Can guppies be in water over 80 degrees?

I just recently got a new heater for my 5.5 gallon tank, I'm not aware of anyway to set the temp for a certain degree. The water was around 84 but I added some cool water to bring the temp down and its on 81/82. I don't know if this is okay because I've read that they can only be in 74-80. Can someone help me out? Thanks!

Yes but won't be very comfortable. Cool down the water fast or they'll die soon. 80 degrees is already an uncomfortable temp for guppies.
