It's mainly because asking some questions about sex is still considered to be a taboo to some people and they do not feel comfortable asking a parent/sibling/friend etc about intimate sex based questions.
As a result sites like Y! Answers offers the relative anonymity to be able to ask those kinds of questions without having to look someone in the eyes and feel judged by someone they know.
It's not about being perverted but about answering those niggling questions which are difficult to get answered otherwise.
