Why Do Democrats Feel Free To Disagree With Obama About Going Into Syria?

But Republicans never disagreed with Bush about going into Iraq. In fact, anybody who disagreed with going into Iraq was denounced as a traitor or a terrorist sympathizer. How could you possibly avoid a mistaken policy if everybody who disagrees with it is discredited, instead of considering the objection? Democrats are openly disagreeing with Obama about going into Syria. Nobody is denouncing them as unpatriotic or traitors. Why this big difference between Republicans and Democrats?

Update:

Like Will Rogers said: "I belong to no organized political party. I am a Democrat!"

Democrats have always disagreed with each other. It is one of the things Republicans used against them. Republicans are good at making their fellow Republicans tow the line, or they used to be.

Their insistence on a homogeneous platform is now working against them. And they drive anyone who is the least bit moderate out of the party. They are becoming more intolerant, and that is what has driven people away.

Perhaps the difference is that the Iraq invasion was spun as an attack against an aggressive nation, where the Syria involvement is more of a humanitarian issue. War with Saddam was war with the enemy (or so it was claimed) while war with Syria (any faction within) is to bring war criminals to justice for using chemical weapons.

With that being said, shouldn't everybody always have the right to criticize or disagree, regardless of political affiliation?

I have defended him for 6 years. If he launches, F him.

As far as your question, I am not beholden to the Democratic party. If they do not carry out their job, of upholding and defending THE CONSTITUTION, they can go to hell with the Repub Tea Party assmoles.
