Why does my phone seem to charge slower when it's almost on %100?

It's like as soon as it gets to like %85, whether it's on airplane mode or not, my phone just seems to start charging a lot slower. Like if it's on say about %52 and I leave it for just a small second, I come back and it's already on %57, but when it's almost completely charged, if it's on %85 and I leave for a second, I come back and it'd either still be on %85 or would just then be on %86 only. WHAT HÒW? ;-;

Just like body energy you can feel a little charge when you are low and when you are high you cant feel it.
