Lyme disease is controllable. Don't panic, the vet will sort it out when they get back to you.

I had a Sheltie withLyme also, and although it takes a while to clear it up, they eventually get over it.

Once she is cleared up, use a topical called Biospot to repel the ticks that cause Lyme. I get mine here, www.kvpet.com. It is far cheaper than the other topicals and it's never failed me.

I had not used it that year (looking back I don't know why) and that's why he wasn't protected.

Once this is all over, please ask your vet to run a FULL thyroid panel to test for Hypothyroidism, a condition very common in many breeds and especially Shelties and Rough Collies. That could be part of the reason your dog was susceptible to Lyme and also why she is turning "mean".

Good luck, but push for the thyroid test, the full panel not just the T4.
