your chances of finding one is slim . I don't believe there was a lot of these nickles made. but if you feel lucky go ahead and buy the 5 boxes and good luck

While the chances that you do find one is not in your favor, it can happen. I get some really strange coins in change, once in a while. By strange I mean proof coin, as well as older coins and even commemorative 1/2 dollars. So anything is possible. You may even get some war time silver nickels but I doubt very much that you will find a 1950-D. Good luck, the hunt is fun anyway.

I received a 1936 buffalo nickle as change from walmart a couple of days ago. The coin was is very good condition.
