Best way to paint on an electric guitar?
I don't want to sand down the guitar and repaint the whole body. I simply just want to paint over it and add design onto it. What kind of paint should I be using? I am painting on an Ibanez RG321MH if that helps. (That's the mahogany one.)
I also want to, if possible, restore the original paint a little on it with the same colour as it has faded in places. What would be the best way to do this?

you want to abrade the clear coat first with fine sandpaper, and then use a spray gun or can to spray on the colour you want, acrylic paint is fine. and you should probably spray a clear coat onto it aswell. as for the design you can use stensils or maybe freehand with a paint brush, just depends on what you wanna do and how good you are at it.
