Deep scratches from odd paint job on guitar; how to remove?
I got this free guitar with fugly flames, I used nailpolish remover to get the flames off; all that remains are these horrendous scratch marks that outline the flames that once were... Are there any ways I can remove the scratches WITHOUT sanding? I really love the sunburst that's on the guitar; and do not want to mess up the finish any more than it already is... Thanks in advance...

I'd first try buffing it out vigorously with a good buffing pad.
somebody on the same forum as this answer, actually did suggest Colgate (not gel) toothpaste to polish out scratches.
Here is what seems like the best method posted on a forum:
Scratch X
This stuff works great, you can do it by hand, don't have to have a buffer.

And it's probably available at your local Autozone, Walmart etc..
Also if you are so inclined, you can get some of the micromesh sandpaper, between that, some 3M Finesse It ( a GREAT silicone free polish that can be applied by hand ) and the Scratch X I've done amazing things to guitar finishes that had belt buckle rash, even buffed out pickguards including a vintage pearl Fender guard that had been spray painted black.
Micromesh ( I got some on eBay pretty inexpensively)
