What is a charcoal donut?

I've heard all the controversy about Dunkin' Donuts new ad, but does anybody know what a charcoal donut is made of?

    It's a donut that is coloured black using edible charcoal.

    Black food is all the rage across Asia at the moment.

    They look like a dark chocolate donut with a dark chocolate glaze.
