me and my partner are starting the gym today ... and weve never gone gym before so i jus need to know a few bits and bobs really...
1. how often should we go to the gym a week
2. how long should we workout in the gym for when we go ??
3. is it bad to go to extremes in a gym strait away for example we want to go to the gym 3-4 times a week 45 mins a session strait away
4.how long ( with a healthy diet ) will it take till i start seeing results
5. which are the best machines to use to lose weight on my arms, shoulders and my belly and legs

1. how often should we go to the gym a week? 3 - 5 times per week is probably ideal, any less and you're wasting your money, any more and you're not giving yourself enough time for recovery, especially when you first start.
2. how long should we workout in the gym for when we go ?? Depends how hard and intense your sessions are. If you're lifting heavy with short rests between sets then 30-45 minutes is enough. If you're not training so hard then anywhere between 30-90 minutes is okay. If you stay too long you get to a point where it just becomes counterproductive.
3. is it bad to go to extremes in a gym strait away for example we want to go to the gym 3-4 times a week 45 mins a session strait away. That's not extreme, you will be fine.
4.how long ( with a healthy diet ) will it take till i start seeing results. Depends on your diet, how hard you train and genetics. Most people wont see any noticable results for at least a few months, give or take.
5. which are the best machines to use to lose weight on my arms, shoulders and my belly and legs. You can't target different parts of your body to lose weight from. You can target areas to build muscle in but where you lose fat from is mainly determined by genetics. Try to use mostly free weights (dumbbells, bar bells and cables) instead of machines.

1. 3 times a week is good for beginners
2. it depends on what type of workout you are doing. There is no set time for how long you should be in the gym. I have done effective 30min workout, I have done effective 90min workouts
3. 3-4 times, 45min session is not extreme, it's actually quite low. Intensity in the gym is not how often you go or how long your workouts are, but rather your intensity and your volume. That means, how much you lift relative to your maximum ability and how many times x kg you lift.
Almost always for beginners - moderate intensity is best
4. You can start seeing results in about 8 weeks
5. Generally speaking machines are the worst to use. Big compound exercises using barbell and dumbbells are the best choice as they will use a lot of muscle and activate your entire body.
I will provide a link below, which in my opinion is one of the best beginner workouts. There are videos there on how to perform exercises. Make sure you and your partner watch them, so that you are able to correct each other and give advice.
