Moving slow before getting into a relationship?

I told the guy I liked that I wanted to move slow. Everyone has been pushing us into a relationship and I know he wants us to date really bad. We've only been talking for a week so I'm kinda uncomfortable dating him now I haven't know him that long. I had been telling him that I was going to tell my parents about him so we can date then I told him I wanted to wait a little while and move slow. Now I think he's mad at me and I'm scared I'm going to lose him. What do I do? Do I forget about moving slow and tell my parent or do is still move slow

I used to be like you. Guys just wanted to jump right in and I always thought that you need to really know each other before getting into a relationship. But really that's what dating IS. You know each other a bit and then you start to date that's when you really start to know each other. Becuase you're spending time with each other more and talking more openly of your feelings. I say you're too young to second guess relationships. You should start dating him becuase you're making him feel like you don't like him. So you're pushing him away unintentionally.

Now with this method of dating, jumping in, you later find things that you may not like about this person. But usually this comes later like almost a year later that you catch on to this. But if you wait that long to get in the relationship he'll most likely be long gone. But if you decide that once you're in a relationship and you don't like them tell them you want to be friends.
