How come my parents never give me a GOOD reason not to do something?

Okay, a while back ago I asked my mom if I could shave. I'm 15 and already have a mustache and I don't like it. I kept asking my mom if I could shave and the only reason she gives me is that I'm not old enough or It grows back faster if you shave it. I tried explaining it to her that it's scientifically proven that it doesn't grow back faster when shaved, but she still uses that as an excuse. Then after a couple attempts she goes ape sh!t on me. Now I asked her If I could get some contacts, her excuse was I'd lose it to easily since it's clear. I proposed putting some kind of pattern on the contacts like the sharingan so I wouldn't lose it. But she still goes ape sh!t on me because she said I look like a druggy. I even said make it just blue like regular eye color, but apparently it still makes me look like a ******** drug addict. I know it's not a budget concern thing because, come one a razor?? Why do parents do that, and did you have similar cases when you were a kid or even now?

Mom was the same way, but her excuses why that is was illegal to shave before the age of 16. I know, I was pretty stupid for falling for that. Had to find out the hard way at school.

Anyhow, your problem here is you may seem a little irresponsible to your mother. Believe me, I noticed this, and when I started to behave a little more maturely, she got me my contacts at age 15 and a half. All you have to do, is act more maturely, sit down with her then and give her a list on why you are responsible enough now to get your contacts. And when this fails, don't moan or complain because this will bring you down again in your mother's eye.

Or do what I did. I asked my mother the contacts everyday until she got tried and practically dragged me to the eye doctor to get the contacts an shut me up. But yea, the whole problem hear is that your mother thinks your are still very immature.

That is how most parents are. When i was growing up, we just do what our parents said and no questions asked. We trusted that whatever they told us to do was the right thing.
