Fine, brittle hair is breaking off bad?

I only use heat on my hair like 2 times a month and I use a protectant when I do, and I haven't colored it in 2 years and I get trims about every 6-8 weeks. my hair is a little past my boobs. I have very fine hair and it has split ends all over the place and is breaking off a lot around my hairline as well as everywhere. I have some sort of dandruff or psoriasis on my head that I have not gotten checked out. I can't find a shampoo in the world that will help it. Anyone know why my hair is breaking? it's kinda scary. I eat healthy and lots of protein and drink lots of water and workout 5 days a week. I am 25

Update:

I take vitamins and Biotin as well

Update 2:

I am stressed sometimes, I'm a college student so sometimes it's tough. I do not use any illegal drugs. I take tylenol for headaches and whatnot, and I'm on birth control. I'm not outside a whole lot except my car.

Are you under stress? Do you take medications or drugs, legal or illegal? Do you spend a lot of time in the sun without a hat on or SPF for your hair? How do you detangle your hair when wet? What kind of brush do you use and how often?

Stress WILL cause breakage. Same as certain drugs. Sun will too. You should always use a wide toothed comb to detangle wet hair, NEVER use a brush on wet hair. Use a good quality boar hair brush in lieu of the cheap plastic bristle brushes. Try not to brush your hair too often. The 100 strokes at bedtime for healthy hair is a wives tale.

The psoriasis you should probably have it checked out, but if you go in to a beauty supply store they might be able to recommend a shampoo and conditioner that suits your needs. You probably need a treatment too.

You also might want to consider cutting your hair as longer hair is nice, but not if its damaged and split everywhere. (Would layering in strategic spots work?)

Lastly use a split plain cotton tee shirt to BLOT your hair dry. Believe it or not towels can do damage to your wet hair! I started using a tee shirt to blot my hair and I noticed a huge difference in the first month. I still use heat 3-4x's a week, but by using the tee shirt I almost completely elimated breakage (and I bleach and color).

Best of Luck to You Dear!

I had terrible hair fall problems in the past, and whenever I used to have dandruff my hair fall used to increase. Your hair fall might be cause of the dandruff. I'm not an expert though, just telling what I think it might be cause I had dandruff problems too, and I know how you feel, people used to make fun of my hair, but now its ok :) You can get rid of Dandruff the natural way as I did, Use Egg Whites+Lemon on your Hair :)

Check out the procedure here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedd...

Applying egg whites on hair will also reduce the split ends :) So two things at a time: get rid of dandruff and split ends, isn't that great?

It worked for me :) I hope it works for you too ^_^ You can also try lemon juice only on hair. But I prefer Egg White+Lemon.

Please check out this link if you want to know more about how to it naturally:

Keep your hair hydrated by drinking plenty of water and using moisturizing conditioners. Eat plenty almonds, fish (salmon especially) and dark green vegetables like spinach. Make sure your iron levels are good too. Give your scalp a massage every day for 10 minutes and flip your head upside down for about 2 minutes to get the blood circulating around the follicles. Healthy, nourishing hair masks, are a must, I use one called pro naturals Moroccan argan oil hair mask, it’s very moisturizing and it makes your hair really healthy. Also, get regular trims to prevent split ends and encourage healthy growth.

moisture helps your hair, egg yolk or mayo. dandruff shampoo and conditioner work, dove is good.. avoid brushing your hair when it's damp, gives you more split ends and crap...
