If you're in a band, what 5 cover songs would you do for a 30 minute gig?

Or even if you're not in a band but would like to be...

Update:

PeePaw, hope yall got a good singer :) No need for me to attempt the Journey stuff without someone with a turbo-charged vocal range. :)

Update 2:

Mr. Grimm .. you have a dang good point.

My days of trying to navigate with a band are effectively over as well. I recently turned down a spot in a band I will not name. Some good friends, good music, were willing to offer me a spot as a third guitar player. I never even entertained the thought. I did know one thing, however, I am unwilling to get involved unless I am 100% committed. And I am not in a place to give them my undivided attention. Enough said about that, if I were in a band tonight, and we had it all worked out, the 5 songs:

Seek and Destroy - Metallica

Needle and the Spoon - Skynyrd

Midnight Rider - Allmans

Jumpin Jack Flash - The Stones

Ride On- AC/DC

    Hi B.T.S!

Just finished practising on my guitar. I've often thought about such a situation, where I'd have to cover a few well known songs. One of which ain't a favourite of mine but, its a good one to cover ( can almost play it ) Livin' On A Prayer by Bon Jovi. Jackie Wilson Said by Van Morrison / Dexy's Midnight Runners.

Ooh La La - Faces ( favourite band ) .Tumblin' Dice by The Rolling Stones. Take Me To The River by Al Green / Talking Heads. All of these I'm at various stages of playing, ability wise. When I'm more able, I'd like to play some Gillian Welch, Ryan Adams, Faces, Guns n' Roses and; Free. I play alone and, when the time's right will go out into the world alone.I lack ability, in the music department regarding putting chords to my own lyrics; otherwise I am okay.

Well, well, well... I'm a drummer, so I'd go with these:

Battery - Metallica (maybe even One, but the rhythm sections are too little for my liking until it gets to Lars's double bass)

    Dead Skin Mask - Slayer

    Lesson In Violence - Exodus

Clenching the Fists of Dissent - Machine Head (been obsessed with them lately)

Efilnikufesin - Anthrax (the chorus is so fun :D)

  • I would do my own material, to be honest. But....

    Fiona Apple - Werewolf

    Misfits - Horror Hotel

    Ramones - We're A Happy Family

    Björk - I Miss You

Screeching Weasel - Making You Cry

Don't Fight It - Kenny Loggins

Time For Me To Fly - REO Speedwagon

    Reach Out - Iron Maiden

I'll Fall In Love Again - Sammy Hagar

Caught in the Middle - Dio
