POLL/SURVEY: What is something your mom (or dad) once said that you will never forget ?

Family is the only thing that will be around when you need it the most.

I'll always remember hearing my dad speaking poorly of members of our own race and I asked him why he was prejudice, especially against his own kind he said, "everyone is prejudice, it doesn't matter who you are." It doesn't sound deep does it, but it really struck a cord with me. Notice he didn't say everyone is "racist" he said "prejudice" and of course that word means to pre-judge someone. It made me see things so differently now as an adult I try to see the best in people without being so judgmental. Yayuhhh.

One day my Dad said to me, "I can't believe you never took up smoking." Not, "Son, I'm so glad you never smoked," or "good for you, son." No, it felt like my dad was put off because I didn't smoke. What a great memory.

My dad once told me I should die my hair blonde..

just because I goof around so much.. well, I used to goof around a lot :)
