What's a good mountain bike under a $1000 that you would recommend?
Is not for me, but a friend. he asked me to find out what a good mtb bike is because i ride everyday but i only have road bikes so i dont now **** about mtb. None of these smart *** comments by you old bike wizards either. Just recommend a bike and don't condescend.

I want to know mainly component stuff, like if this one is krap, or that one is a good value.
