I have no clue what to do with life, need advice.?
I'm 20 years old, about to turn 21 in a few days. I'm still completely clueless what to do with life. I went to college for a year, but nothing offered through colleges interests me at all, so I dropped out. I've also tried working odd jobs, such as dish washing and stuff like that, and there is no way I want to spend the rest of my life working minimum wage jobs. So right now I'm unemployed, broke, and completely clueless what to do. All in all, no realistic career interests me in the least, so if anyone has any advice it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Get a job anywhere you can. But try and hope for a position where there is opportunity for advancement. If there is any type of manufacturing or oilfield jobs in your area, focus on those because they will offer on the job training and advancement. Once you get a job, see if it is something you can tolerate. If not, look for another job, but keep your old job while you search. Since you have no direction and might make a life long career out of it, you might want to avoid fast food places and other total crap jobs like that. If you have to work at a terrible place because nobody else will hire you, do that until you can find a better job. Employers are interested in what you have been doing lately, so if you can't find a job, find some place to volunteer. They would much rather hear that you "worked at a soup kitchen" than hear that you "looked for work". Besides, unless they ask, you don't have to tell them that you worked for free.

Sounds to me that you need to work out what you enjoy doing, which isn't easy.
My suggestion is go travelling and work out what you enjoy when you are going around the world or continent.
Get a job with the sole purpose of saving money for travel. Even if you hate the job, keep telling yourself that you are doing this because you're going travelling in a years time. That is the goal!!!!
When you're travelling you're meet loads of people in hostels that you'll never meet in your every day life. It's a great melting pot for ideas and finding out what other people do. Why not try volunteering when your travelling. You could volunteer in a school, orphanage, helping people build a home, forestry management etc. Buy trying different things out you may find your ideal vocation.
Travelling can also look good on your CV when you get back as it shows you can plan, your an independent thinking person and you can take calculated risks.
Good luck and hope you find something you want to do.

1. What kind of jobs/careers do your parents (or the people who raised you) have?
You are most likely to be excellent at those kinds of careers because you spent the majority of your life watching them do it and do it well. Also they will have connections to get you started.
2. What are your natural abilities? What do people always ask you to help them with because they know you have a natural knack for it? Find a job that needs those kinds of talents.
3. What are the things that you ALWAYS do, whether or not someone reminds you to do them or not? Find a job/career that has those elements to it.
Put all those answers together and see what careers/job fit the bill... you'll be good at it, sought after and love it as well.
