Did you ever have a question reported and then reinstated upon appeal?

Did you feel vindicated? I had this situation just in the past week, but what was crazy about it was that it was a question I asked and resolved 2 years ago.

So are the trolls just f-ing around or are they reminding me that I'm dealing with an automated program (no humans needed) until a crisis (albeit a small one) occurs? What do you think is going on here and what has been your experience?

Update:

Blunt - Quite possibly. But I was hoping for a little more detail.

Update 4:

BQ: Why did my comment to Blunt repeat two extra times? I didn't type it 3 times.

Update 8:

Just to give everyone an idea of what has happened lately, I've had three questions reported. Two reinstated, one ultimately found to be in violation. All three of the questions reported (this week) were questions I asked and resolved more than 2 years ago. This is what made me think it could be trollwork. At the end of the day it seems a lot of fuss and bother over really old stuff. It makes me think there should be a Y!A version of a "statute of limitations." Am I wrong?

Surprisingly, I haven't. That Y!A still allows the report button after the BA has been chosen baffles me.

To answer your BQ, I've noticed a trend with Y!A of late, and when I say of late I mean it's been going on for a few years, it will duplicate everything; I get four to five e-mails for the same question, and often the question was asked years ago.

I suspect that the programmer that was hired to write the code for their servers lied on their resume and was likely smoking dope while they did it. The software really can't seem to handle questions the way it should; I post a question in aircraft, and it bounces through several sections, thereby causing it to go to a contact for every section it's in.

I suspect they'd rather put more ads up promoting Sensa for Men or Testosterone treatments than actually fix the problems they already have. Putting ads up is easier and pays bett er, opposed to fixing the diffuculties. And, of course they don't offer a means to give them feedback until you've been reported enough to get suspended and give them an ear full.

Yes it has happened a few times but not often

My guess is that it was probably reported several times way back then, and someone recently saw it and reported it. I wouldn't blame trolls for this one unless you have had a massive influx or violations recently.

As for the Yahoo automatic system and appeals they are far better now than than then.

You should now feel confident that you now knows the system 'does' work properly

You got a violation, you made and appeal and you got a result

They say they will act within 24-48 hours and at a random guess I will say it took around 10 hours.

One of my contact said she had a question reinstated in 4 hours, so I guess it is how busy they are.

    Congratulations

Yes - I had a Q reinstated a few days ago. I appealed approx. a week ago. I appeal most of the violations but usually only 1 in 5 is reinstated. Chatting seems to be the catchall.

However, I have asked over 3000 Qs and most were not violated.

Only once or twice. I can't even tell ya how many times I had a good question and it was within the rules of the Yahoo Answer community guidelines and it got reported. It's frustrating, especially because it's hard to get it overturned and reinstated. It seems like Yahoo Answers gives too much power to people who goof around and report legitimate questions for fun. It's as if they are immature and they get their kicks from reporting legitimate questions. They're jerks.

Most of my reported violations have been successful. Yes I suppose I feel vindicated and I'm pleased to win the appeal but annoyed that it was necessary to have to send the time submitting an appeal since it seems some members just report for their own amusement.
