Nylon beading thread vs nylon sewing thread for jewelry?
I know beading thread used for beading most of the time, but what is the difference between it and the bonded sewing thread? At Jo Anns they sell a upholstery thread that they say is "It is a bonded 3-ply nylon thread that is weather; abrasion; mildew and UV resistant" Would that work as well as beading thread?

I think you'll find that thread to be too thick for beadwork. The only place I would use something like this is for warping a loom for a smaller project. Nylon beading thread, like Nymo, is a very thin fine thread. Also, nylon thread, when used for making beadwork that will get a lot of movement, like say in a bracelet, will stretch over time. If you're looking for strength, go with Fireline fishing line

You can get it at bead stores, but it's much cheaper at Walmart or sporting goods stores. I've been using Fireline in smoke or crystal for my beadwork for years and it holds up much better than nylon thread. The only thing I use the nylon thread for is any fringe work. Fireline is a little too stiff for fringe to drape properly.
