Does the Asker still get 3 points returned when Q is resolved by vote?
It says in the Y!A (Answers) points table [ http://answers.yahoo.com/info/scoring_system;_ylt=... ] that the Asker gets 3 pts returned when they choose BA. For years most people thought that if the Q was let go to vote the Asker did not get back 3 pts, as that statement implies, but they did. One user did a test question on this that proved it, which is what I'm doing now, to see if this has finally been changed.
I will let this Q go to vote and I will post results in the comment box afterwards.
Yeah ฬнïzzz!, that was a pet peeve of mine. They must've forgotten to send me the memo. I was told on the Suggestion Board this morning that it has been changed. First I heard of it, hence this Q for personal verification.

My memory, which I'm not 100% certain about, is that there was a bug that was returning the three points, not an actual change in the points system.
So, your test should result in no points returned if you allow this to go to vote.
The results should be interesting, and I'll watch for the SB post as well.

No they don't anymore. They used to but it was changed about a year or two ago.
If i remember right it was about the same time as they changed the choose best answer fron 4 hours to one hour.
There was a lot of complaining about why askers got the points returned when they let questions go to voting.
Old question about it "Should yahoo answers make choosing a best answer, and having voters choose it equal in points?"
