My new bunny is afraid of me?
I got a bunny like two weeks ago and he's still terribly scared of me. He lets me pet him in his cage but when he's out he runs away! How do I get him to like me? He also takes treats from my hand but is still afraid...

Imagine this...
A giant. Picks you up. Puts you in a box. Carrues yo to an absurd, weird house and being chased around by a giant yelling "come here, come here!"
But be patient...
Sit by his cage and talk to him. It's weird but a good idea to read a book to him.
Give him treats.
Get down to his level and when he comes to you. Give him a very thin peice of apple.
Good luck _('-') _(0.0) c(*.*c)

You're ok, you're moving in the right direction! A truly terrified rabbit would bite you when you tried to touch in the cage and definitely wouldn't take food from you!
When he's out and about use a noise, like calling his name, to associate with a particular favourite treat, even if you have to throw it in his general direction at first! He'll quickly begin to associate that when he hears that noise super yummy food happens. In a few weeks he'll be practically scaling your leg for said treat!
Don't force excessive handling on him. Learn to read his body language. He's probably running away when he's out as there's far more interesting things needing investigating than getting nose rubs!

Rabbits are naturally very skitty animals. Give it time he might warm up. I would say try to hold him more often maybe wrap him up and hold him close while watching a movie with some bunny treats. My neighbors trained there bunnies by putting a collar and leash on them and let them feel a little more independent and not smothered. That way they r still near u but not confined...good luck hope ur little bunny warms up!

It takes time.
But bribing him with food is your very best bet.
In fact don't let him eat anything unless you give it to him at first if you want to do a jump start. Then maybe put food in his room. Also maybe try fixing up your hair and makeup. He might just be afraid of you because you look scary.

time and handling the more you play with your pet the more your pet will get used to you...treats help but if used to often animals get the tendency to just bite your hand because they want or think they are getting a treat.... no bueno.

Give it a little bit of time! Each day take him out in a confined space and stay still and be queit until he comes to you..

Try handling him more until he gets used to you. Maybe he wasn't handled much before you got him.
