New to baking would I use the same?

amount of cornstarch in an apple pie that would normally be flour?

    No. Cornstarch thickens twice as effectively as flour. Use half the amount of c'starch as flour

    Most likely, yes--but you should check with your recipe first. If it says use cornstarch, that usually means you will use around two tablespoons--you may use more or less flour. It depends on what else is in the filling.

    Assuming you mean to thicken the filling.

    You are not talking about making the crust.
