He will be processed (Finger printed, photographed), he will be held in jail, he will stay there until he goes before the judge (depending on the court schedule it could be an hour or it could be overnight),

Do not turn yourself in on a Friday, or before a holiday, that means you will spend more time in the jail because not too many courts are open on weekends or holidays.

For this offense, not too much of a routine as your only there for a day or two. You will be locked up until you see the judge

Yes he will, do you think this is a hotel with a private room? Its not it is a jail not built for your personal relaxation or pleasure

So I'm guessing he'd rather sit in jail rather than pay the fine. I would think the best day to turn oneself in in hopes of spending less time would be a Friday or right before a major drinking holiday like the 4th. His length of stay will be determined by the amount of tickets and yes he will have cell mates in the county jail unless he is unstable then they will separate them. OR he could just pay the fine and not go to jail.

He should contact the court hearing his case. Tell them he would like to come in and take care of

the fines and costs. They may let him come in and settle up and not report to jail.

If he wants to go the warrant route he should take the cash with him. They will book him in.

If he has the money they will book him in and out and he won't spend any time.

If he isn't going to bond out he will be lodged in jail until he is taken in front of a judge t

    address his charges.

They best time would be to show up a few hours before court time that way they have time to get

    you on the court docket.

He will most likely be in general population while in jail.

Tell him if he going to turn himself in don't do it on any weekend. If he turns himself in say on friday

he will set in jail until monday at court time.

Remember he is best off if he takes the money with him so he can leave.

When he has his court date on the warrant they may sit another court date instead of sentencing him at first court he has.
