First few photos on camera the computer won't recocognise?

Laptop is 2 moths old-windows 7. It Recognises the shots after. What do I do to get first few shots on camera. Or, what did I do wrong.

    Reformat the memory card in th camera itself.

    Transfer new photos to the Laptop and WAIT until they have fully transferred. Then eject the camera as if it was a remote card..

    it is so much faster to take the card out of the camera and put it in the card slot on the laptop or buy a cheap USB card reader. The photos are usually in the DCIM folder.

    I'd suggest you buy an external card reader. I've been using readers for a decade or so with no glitches or problems on either my laptop or my pc.
