What should I look for in a mini schnauzer puppy?
What are the mini schnauzer traits I should look for when looking at a schnauzer puppy?
I've picked the runt of the litter, small frame.
I'm looking to add to my family a particular breed, I already have a rescue dog therefore no comments on rescue pets please.

OK, so first, the word Runt only means that the puppy was the smallest puppy of the litter. A dog that was a runt, does not necessarily stay a runt. Many of those that were born runts, end up being as big and sometimes bigger than their siblings.
If I was looking for a Miniature Schnauzer puppy, I would start my search at the national breed club, then I'd attend a few shows and talk to people. I would also expect the breeder to be a member of their local mini schnazuer club. I would expect the breeder to have done whatever genetic testing is required for that particular breed, I would also expect the breeder to breed to the written standard.
So, no white schnauzers, no dilutes, or any other funky crap. If a breeder says the dogs are vet checked, that means squat. Go to the national breed club website and see what tests are recommended for the breed.
