Why do Muslim women have to cover up because of uncontrollable Muslim men behavior?

I have read the Koran twice and see that women are to present themselves modestly.  Why aren't the men required to cover up their bodies?  My grandmother covered her head but she was also treated like a second class citizen.  The action of covering up seems to imply that not to cover up creates a situation where men will attack the person.  A religion that implies two standards for males and females appears to show a bias toward inequality.  I see this inequality in the Catholic and Jewish religion as well.  Will these religions ever come into the 21st Century?

Because Islam is a gynephobic, patriarchal, Middle Eastern religion.  As are Christianity and Judaism.

The Middle East is a patriarchal, gynephobic society.  It's run by men, for the benefit of men, and women are seen as second-class citizens - a sort of gender-based serf class, mostly good for feeding and breeding more men.

Which is kind of a pity, because as the parable of Martha and Mary shows, Jesus did NOT teach this mindset.  The Christian religion got hijacked back into patriarchal bullshyt by Paul, who was not an apostle and never even met Jesus.

I think some branches of Christianity and Judaism are evolving; there are female ministers, bishops, and even rabbis.  The Catholic church?  No, not likely.  The power structure is too entrenched.  On the bright side, the number of faithful sheep is dropping and fewer men and women sign on for a lifetime of sterile servitude.

Islam has several sects and a wide sampling of humanity. Not all Muslim women cover their faces. Not all Muslim women wear robes to the ground. Many Muslim women drive and become doctors, lawyers, engineers, professors, policewomen, politicians.
There are extreme Christian groups too, The Trappists don't speak, the Jesuits don't get along with anybody unless they can dominate them, the Jehovah's Witnesses are a mob of crackpots, the Plymouth Brethren are a fairly extreme Protestant sect, the Amish and the Mennonites have some eccentric beliefs and practices. Some of them won't buy a car but they will buy a tractor. Some buy cars and paint all the chrome black.
I don't care what people do in Canada as long as they obey the law of the land.

I am Christian myself, there is no inequality in christian religion a far as I know.

This middle eastern couintries are been dominated by men and they think they are powerfull. Women are to feed and bear and rear kids and use as sex toys whenever need my men. I feel pity for those women who still believe in that and who take no action against that. Im proud not to be born in such mess.

Hopefully one day things will change for good. Peace
