is airsoft a legitimate sport, if so, where can i find a league?

i decided that i wanted to do airsoft but i don't have frequent matches. so i was wondering if there were any leagues or anything.

    It's not really an established sport in the sense that there are established teams and a leagues and divisions and all that stuff, it's more just a 'show up on the day and play' type sport. There are teams, but they are self organized and dont actually compete against other teams in a dedicate competition.

    I guess that depends on your definition of legitimate

    also on your local area and if there are a lot of people that are into it
