Is there a Free Ferry (or cheap, at least) from NYC to NJ?

am hoping to go from NYC to NJ and work out a travel plan before hand.

need to know how to save $$ either by getting a free or cheap ferry ride or at least a walk across a bridge?

anyone know how to save and or not spend to get to NJ?

thanks!

My friend, if you want to avoid the ferry, and you're only going to Newark, Hoboken or Jersey City, NJ, I would recommend taking the PATH train instead.

The fare on the PATH, which is a commuter railway, is only $2.25 each way. You can purchase a multi-trip ticket for around $20, which is a huge money saver.

    Good luck

no free ferry from nyc to nj. You can walk across the GW bridge from 179 st in upper Manhattan to Ft Lee, but the walk way is closed after midnight. There are jitneys that run from the GW bus terminal for around $1 if you get off in Ft Lee

No ferry is free in NY, are you kidding? The only way to avoid a toll is to swim.

NO ferry is for free. You can try walking over the GW Bridge from the upper Bronx.
