The term the bible mistranslates as "word" is actually Logos, an ancient Greek philosophical concept representing order, the power that holds everything and the world together. In modern terms, it's probably equivalent to the strong and weak nuclear forces.

According to the Christains they have believed that the Bible was writted in English and they have Concluded that this WORD is Jesus [Pbuh].

According to Islam This WORD is The Command Of Almighy God That When ever He Intends to Create a Creation He Just Says The WORD ""BE' and it is Created. Therefore Nothing Existed Before Creation BUT GOD AND HIS WORD '[ that is his command ]

    And Allah Knows best !!!

Actually, your quote comes from The Gospel of John, and it reads like this:

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning.

John 1:3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. 4 In him was life, and that life was the light of men. 5 The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it.

John 1:14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

"The WORD" both was WITH God, and WAS GOD. "The Word" is God's Power and Essence. In John 1:14 ... we read that "The Word became flesh, and dwelt among us". This, of course, was Jesus. He was the very Power and Essence of Almighty God transformed into human form and come to Earth as a man.

The Word, (greek word "logos") is the Greek concept of the intelligence that pervades and animates the universe and brought it into being. John makes the point that Jesus is the "logos" in His pre-incarnate form. Jesus existed spiritually in eternity past with God the Father. He stepped into time and humanity when He was born of the virgin Mary.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him was not any thing made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. (John1:1-4)

Here it is written that Word was God and with God. These explain not only God is Word but also Word was with God. That's why christian believe not only in Jesus (Word) but also in Father God, and Holly Spirit.

    Word is Jesus ????

we can know that Word us Jesus from John 1:9,14, 17

"The true light, which gives light to everyone, was coming into the world. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen His glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth. For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ"

If what I have written is not enough to prove and make anyone who read realize that Jesus is God. I suggest you to read bible and how about the gospel of John as started?

P.S. this is why christian believe that to be saved, we have to believe in Jesus who is in fact God.

The word was a way of saying knowledge. It was from the Greek Sophia. Eating the word was digesting information. This was mostly from the Gnostic teachings, yet before the word was a source and from that source all else emanated.

Logos. They stole that from Ancient Greece. It's extremely out of place with the rest of the Bible, you have to admit.

    Jesus is called the word.

    John1:1

"In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was God.

The Bible is telling us Jesus is God.
