No but back in the day we put a 283 Chev in a 66 Monza. If it will fit back there I suppose it's possible. I'll google the engine and see what it is.

283 in a Corvair? Did it do wheelies? I don't know about putting a 600 lb engine in place where an aluminum air cooled engine was before. I know of people putting Corvair engines in VWs. I loved the Corvair. I had several of them and tried to keep them, but I had financial issues that necessitated me selling them. I hate Ralph Nader. I never rolled any of my cars and I drove like a maniac when I was younger.
To answer your question, the answer is no. Why put a $16,000 engine in a Corvair when the original 6 cyliner did just fine?
