Can someone help me with this Physics problem?

A horse canters away from its trainer in a straight line, moving 35m away in 8.5s . It then turns abruptly and gallops halfway back in 2.0s .

a)Calculate its average speed for the entire trip.

b) Calculate its average velocity for the entire trip, using "away from the trainer" as the positive direction.

Find distance 35 + 17.5 and time , 8.5 + 2, find avaerage speed from distance over time. Note the average velocity has quite a different value because direction matters and displacememnt is 35 - 17.5 in time of 10.5 s.
