Under the dome Stephen king tv book Steven Spielberg?

I just finished season one of under the dome the tv series and have not got much patience so I bought the book on kindle edition, anyone that has read the book, where should I start reading from because I really don't want to recap all of season one? Even if it explains more! It's such a huge book!

You might want to start from the beginning because a lot of details in the books are completely left out. There is no "egg" or "mini dome". Junior is completely changed, and Rusty is left out of the tv series for Linda, his wife in the book. Dodee and Angie are not big players, and die very early in the books. Julia doesn't have a husband. Barbie is a drifter, not working for Max because there is no Max in the books. The drug plot is also entirely different.

I haven't read the books, but do realize that TV shows and books can greatly differ. This doesn't answer your question, but do realize that the show could have changed a lot of important things from the book, so I'd treat the two as separate entities, and never count on the tv show as the original telling, it's always the book in this case. Have you ever watched or read The Vampire Diaries? The show deviates so far from the books that it's a completely different plot. The only similarity is the title because, in one instance, even a character's name is switched around in the show. So, really, if you read the book, remember that it's the original telling of the story, and the movie/tv show will always change around stuff and will definitely leave out stuff, and sometimes that difference is HUGE. So it might not be just explaining more in the book, the tv show might be completely changing some important things! Yep, sorry I didn't answer your question, though!

I think Under The Dome (TV series) was more inspired by the book than based faithfully on it. That is, most of the characters in the book appeared on TV, and yep, there's a giant dome that appears out of nowhere. A lot of the things in the TV series don't really happen in the book and vice versa, and the characters' relationships are different, there's a couple of major characters that don't seem to appear in the TV show but are vital in the book. Start from the beginning. You'll be glad you did :)

The book and the TV series have almost nothing in common. You can't watch the series and then pick up in the book, because the stories and characters are different. For example, in the book, Barbie didn't kill Julia's husband, because Julia wasn't married. Junior is a lot more psychotic. Not only is Angie not Joe's sister, she dies pretty early on. Norrie is a local kid, and doesn't have lesbian moms. Linda is married, and she and her husband have two kids, and all of them are trapped under the dome together. Rose makes it to the end. Major characters from the TV series aren't in the book, and vice versa.

What everyone else said. The book and the TV show are very different, if you're going to read it it would be best to start at the beginning. 1,074 pages is rather excessive but I thought it was a very good book, easily in my top 10 favorite Stephen King books.

Start at the beginning. King has already said that the TV series will have a different solution.
