Cheerleaders can you answer these?
Hey everyone!
Okay, so I really want to be a cheerleader, and make the squad for high school next year. The thing is, I've NEVER cheered before, so I need to master everything by April 2 (thats's when tryouts are). Here are the stuff I need to know for tryouts.
-toe touch
-left&right hurkies
-pike
-backhandspring&front hand spring
-roundoff
-back tuck
-hurdlers
(do I need to know layouts? Or is that not necessary)
Out of the list up there, I can do a decent toe touch (I want to get it higher), left&right hurkies (decent), splits(helps with toe touches) and a backbend (which is the first step into learning a bhs).
Based on this information, when do you think I ABSOLUTELY need to start taking cheer class with a private coach to learn this stuff? I have volleyball until October, and my parents are willing to let me take them in November. So is 5 months enough to learn all this stuff? I'm willing to work hard and put forth all my time, effort, and energy into learning this and to getting it right. It would be extremely helpful if you guys could give me an estimate of how long it would take to learn all this (:
So far, I've been doing/practicing a lot of stuff on my own. I stretch everyday, and I've tried doing a backwalkover.
Thank you so much! xx
BONUS: Could you guys give me a few links I could use for stretches on any of the requirements listed above? Thanks! xx

If you have friends on the squad you might want to just ask them to help you out instead of getting a private coach. All squads are different so someone already on the squad is your best bet.
