Game of Thrones, a Clash of Kings: Jaqen or Jaquen?
I keep seeing Jaqen H'ghar's name spelled Jaquen. Why is this? Is it spelled this way in one of the editions of the books? Is it a fan spelling of the way they prefer his name to be pronounced? Am I right in believing that Jaqen is canon and Jaquen is not?

In english Q is almost always followed by a U. So my guess it that people watching the show before/instead of reading the books don't know exactly how to spell it and choose the spelling that looks correct. As far as I know Jaqen is not spelled with a U in any edition of any of the books.

Jaqen is canon and correct in the context of the books.
People who spell it ''Jaquen'' are wrong, but it does make grammatical sense so far as the English language is concerned.
