How do I convince my parents to let me not go to church?

My parents make me go to church every week even though I hate it. I like my religion, but I don't feel as though the church is doing what it should be. I have already proposed me going to a different church that I volunteer at, but they won't let me. What should I do?

Maybe sit down with them and explain the reasons why you don't like their church. I know people are stuck in their routines and like structure in church, because it is all they have ever known. If you are old enough to drive, try asking to go explore the other churches you have in mind. Growing up is about finding your own way and path in life, and especially finding a church that you get fulfillment from, instead of one that you dislike.

Yes and perhaps they should allow you to select your own school and while they are at it they should let you pick your own dentist, bedtime and what you will be eating at supper every night.
