Ray,
I COMPLETELY agree with you. The NFL has become a sissy league, worried about RAIN, thunder, and lightning off in the distant horizon.
Pathetic. Something is bent with the league when folks who spent hundreds of dollars to plant their butt down on a sideline seat, only to be asked to go have a beer in a line-out-the-door because the television crews and referees hear thunder and feel rain!
Something is stupid when they think lightning that is dozens of miles away will reach out and kill someone!
Last I checked, ARCHITECTS design lightning-rods to be built into a structure.
Completely sissy for the networks and that asinine Weather Channel to suspend the game.

Your funny. Lighting can be pretty dangerous. People can say all they want about the NFL becoming a sissy league, but the NFL has never played in lighting and this is something that isn't new. The NFL will play in all sorts of weather conditions, but they have always been cautious about lighting.

They have SkyScan Lightning Detectors in place to assist game managers in their decisions when it's safe to resume play. It's the lightning, it could seriously injure or kill many people.
