are these serious birth control side effects?

I am 25, have been on different forms on birth control for 10 years. In may I switched to a low estrogen pill (Microgestren 1/20) from no estrogen (Joulivette). The past 3 months, I have been experiencing random nausea, random coughing, feeling ill, chest pain, shortness of breath, racing heart, extreme mood swings, headaches, crazy food cravings, and tightness in my legs. I'm supposed to be getting off it this week, but I didn't know if this was something I need to get checked out by my doctor asap?

Why are you waiting until next week to come off your birth control?

Some of these symptoms are not associated with the birth control such as the coughing, but the worrying symptoms that may be related to your birth control are the headaches and tightness in your legs which may imply problems with blood flow - these would be considered warning signs for stroke and thrombosis. Discuss these symptoms with your doctor and stop using the birth control you're on now to be on the safe side, in future I suggest you consider non-hormonal options.

clearly that pill is not working for you.

contact your dr and remind them that you have now been on it for 3 months and are having tons of side effects.

they will most likely suggest a differernt pill.
