My cockatiel ate onion HELP?
Well I'm not 100% that it was onion!! I was eating a lasagna lean cuisine meal and my cockatiel decided that she would have some and before I could stop her, she had a bite and it looked like she ate onion but I'm not 100% sure! What will happen to her? I'm so scared! None of the vets are open at this time!! Help PLEASE

I will add to Clive's reassurance that she will be fine. It is not certain that onion even affects birds the same way as mammals because birds have nucleated red blood cells. There have been no studies but it is advised to avoid it regardless. One small piece will not cause any harm.

She will be fine do not panic.
She would need to eat quite a bit to do any real harm.
Watch her poohs, I doubt you will see any change if as you say she only got a little bit, not pigged out.
Don't worry it is always good that you care so much for her. Give her a head scritch for me.

NEVER chocololate or AVOCADOE
be more careful - they will eat anything even if it is bad for them
