Why does my Yahoo Answers forum change back and forth from the old format and new format?

This happens right in the middle of trying to answer a question. I have spent time writing an answer and it won't post giving me a message Sorry Try Later. Then, the format changes I lose the answer I have written.

Moving to another language version is all well and good to solve the current problem, but I saw it mentioned a couple of times last week that people on the other sites e.g. NZ are getting the new format there and it's just a matter of time before they roll it out to the other sites.

Feedback -> http://suggestions.yahoo.com/detail/?prop=answers&... <<< is the thread that staff created for feedback concerning the new format. If you want to voice complaints/suggestions then it's best to use that thread rather than hoping they will see that people are now using non-US English Y!A sites instead.

Why does your format change? They are running a trial and presumably working it the same way they did for the defunct ratings scheme which was based on browser cookie. If you clear your cookies to one which isn't included you get the old version back, but then this cookie could then be included in the trial an hour later.

If you are writing an answer and you get an error message then go back (with your browser button at the top left), copy the text (ctrl+c) and then open the question and paste the text (ctrl+p) again and it should then work.

Answer Bag did this a few years back. Stampede for the exit. YA hasn't learned from others' mistakes. I'll continue posting from the Canadian site. When I can longer access the familiar, functional format, I'll leave.

    This is a mess.

I bet some people get paid for making that mess.

I got the new format just now, like today, you can't even find the "edit" button you're supposed to have to edit your answer.

Switch to non-US Yahoo...they still have the old nice format there.

The above doesn't happen on Hotmail. Get an account with them. It'll be the best thing you ever did. 'I bet some people get paid for making that mess.' True. Whilst some of us are starving on the dole. And suffering from their incompetence..

All non-U.S. Yahoo sites still keep the old format (for the time being). They must have a way to detect a huge drop in traffic to the US site, so, let's ALL log into any non-US site and TELL THEM. ☼
