    YES, YES, YES. Then England can finally get rid of the monkey on its back.

    The trouble is, only the Scots will get a vote.

    Scotland receives far more in subsidies FROM the UK than it pays in taxes. Financially, it would be a disaster for Scotland to go it alone. THAT'S why all of the advocates for Scottish independence are always going on about an independent Scotland remaining in the EU, and just taking money from a different source. But is it wise to exchange Westminster for Brussels?

    Simple fact -- Scotland CANNOT go it alone. So that really IS the choice: Westminster or Brussels.

    Honestly, all feel-good-emotional-claptrap aside, where do you think Scotland would have greater influence?
