How to get my two cockatiels to mate! =)?
I have two cockatiels (male and female ofcorse) the male one (Bronco) is about 2 years old and the female (Quinty) is about 1 years old! How can I tell if they love each other!
They always call for each other and sometimes preen each other! Quinty isn't all that interested but Bronco is so into her! How can I get them to mate? They have a very nutritious diet and they are happy and healthy (at least I think?) :)
Thank you

If your hen is under 1 year then she is not old enough to breed and could become egg bound.
They require a nest box of about 12-15 inches high , 12 inches square.put in nothing other than 3-4 inches of Peat or sand soil mix.Cockatiels do not like leaves or grasses and do not put in material as some one has suggested , the chicks or their parents could catch their claws in the material with disastrous results.
A nutritious diet should consist of a good quality seed mix (Cockatiel)supplemented with green food such as Broccoli, Kale, Cress,Sweet Corn Cob(raw) Carrot, soaked sprouting seed, these are all good foods for to bring your birds into breeding condition supplying vitamins and minerals, not forgetting Cuttle bone.

Try giving them a small box large enough for the female lay her eggs in and for her to move around. That way they have a nesting area
You could also cut a hole in a milk gallon place a clean rag for her to lay eggs on.
I try this for my cockatiel and they mated

Have patience and not disturb them and put them in an area where no one can see them nor they see you they are very sensitive birds .They take time to adjust
