Depends on where you have it done. Lots of shops,mechanics, back yard mechanics do break work so shop around for the best price. I see ads in the paper for around $100 an axel. If you're short on cash you can get away with having just the front done. You may even find someone on craigslist.

Probably $400 - $700 (or more) depending where you go, and what they replace other than pads,. You might need new rotors and sometimes calipers or wheel cylinders need replacing. Then the labor costs, so $120 - $250 in just labor, brakes jobs never end up as cheap as some of the ads claim.
