Is Grand Theft Auto 5 inappropriate?
For the past couple of days, my son has been bothering me of wanting to buy some game called grand theft auto 5. I finally have decided, that maybe i should buy him a game becasue its been a while since he has gotten one. What i want to know that if this game is inappropriate. On the cover it says its for M which i know means adults can play, but my son says its only M for viiolence. Which i guess i can tolerate, but not alot. He said all his friends play and their is nothing bad in the game. I was watching a trailer and i saw a girl with a really short skirt. Then i got a bit worried. I dont want my son to be seeing girls with short skirts. He is only 12. So if this game is not really that innapropitate and its M for only a little violence, should i buy him it?

Are you serious? You've never heard of Grand Theft Auto series of games? OK, you typed a lot so I assume an internet troll probably wouldn't be so verbose.
Violence? Given that you (while playing a character that is a gangster and drug dealer) can shoot anyone - including prostitutes in the face (if you wish) after having just paid them for services rendered, I think that it is safe to say that you could consider this game both violent and extremely inappropriate for your son.

Look dude the game is not for kids at all. Rated M for Blood and Gore, Intense Violence, Mature Humor, Nudity, Strong Language, Strong Sexual Content, Use of Drugs and Alcohol. If you want your kid exposed to that stuff be my guest but I hate when people blame video game publishers for making such a game when parents make irresponsible decisions.

Do you even bother to look at what exactly the game is. And really, short skirts are your worries? Girls wear even shorter things top and down in todays schools... Theres unblurred nudity, so much violence, killing peds, drugs, and cursing. No way to turn them off either. And by the way... when your son says to get him COD ghosts and BF4 DONT!!! BF4 has uncensored amputation, and lots of cursing and gore, same as COD. Ive heard the speech "my kid knows what he is playing" But unless your son knows exactly that these things are wrong in real life, they should never be done, who does these things, and that these things are awful, and no offense, but a twelve year old probably doesnt know these things. For all things, a GTA game is the nastiest M games out there. Even my super mature and genius 14 year old in college classes doesnt want to get it because he knows the game isnt even for him and I wouldnt let him get it either.

Emm, If your only problem is short skirts then you kinda need to see the real world bud, Nah! GTA 5 is a large game with a lot of hype earning 800 mil in less than 24 hours. The franchise is widely known for its controversial violence as in drug dealers and prostitutes and maybe strip clubs. Its rated M for Blood and Gore, Intense Violence, Mature Humor, Nudity, Strong Language, Strong Sexual Content, Use of Drugs and Alcohol. Tho to tell you the truth, movies are more violent than this and sometimes contain nudity full out. It just depends on your child's behavior. If he does good in school and isn't a violent kid, It wouldn't be that bad, if he is full out failing and wants to copy Rambo, maybe a pass!

It is M for major violence, language, nudity, drugs... basically, you would be a bad parent if you got it. And girls in short skirts are just the tip of the sexual iceberg.

It's highly inappropriate for kids his age. No, it's not just violence. There's drug use, coarse language (here's one line in one of the opening scenes : F***, f***, f***, f*** it ! F*** !), nudity and sexual references.
In my opinion 12 year olds should be aware of this kind of topics as this is what life is. Being clueless in this topic can be as bad as knowing too much. However, I feel GTA is too much for a 12 year old.

GTA V isn't appropriate for little kids under 15 really because GTA has things that their not exposed 2 yet (they will in high school). He's just a hypebeast, I really suggest u don't buy it for him. Don't **** up your kid's head with that game. GTA is the last game u should buy for your kid.

I'd say it's all quite appropriately rated. It's a mature game and has an appropriate level of mature language, sexual content, drug use and violence to go with that rating.

Violence only?!No no no no,he's lying to you.I've been a fan of the GTA games since I was a kid too,but GTA V is really inappropriate and I choose not to play it.Why?
Well,GTA 5 is really M rated because well, you play as a drug dealer criminal who robs banks, goes to strip clubs, takes out prostitutes for their "services" and then shoots them in the face with a shotgun and takes back his money.I suggest you don't buy it for him. It'll ruin his childhood and probably his school behavior and grades, too.

it is inappropriate for your 12 years old son because the game is bloody and there are many sex thingies, many drug thingies, you should probably let your 12 years old son play games like spiderman, dynasty warrior, batman arkham origins blackgate and other T games and 12 and up games
