6th/ Madison Ave Diner?

A couple of years ago my daughter and I were in New York and had lunch at a diner on 6th Ave on the Upper East Side somewhere around E 70th (we had just been to the Frick). We are going back in February and she wants to repeat the experience. We can't find it on google street view. Does anyone have any ideas about where this (perhaps mythical) diner is, and what it is called?

6th Avenue doesn't go up that high. Are you sure you mean 6th Avenue??? It's not possible. 6th Avenue ends when it gets to Central Park.

If you were up by the Frick and were eating lunch somewhere, you might have been on Madison Avenue. Madison is one over from 5th Avenue on the Upper East Side and, unlike 5th Avenue, it's got stores and restaurants on it.

Since the Frick is in the East 70s on 5th Avenue, chances are you walked one block east the Madison Avenue.

EDIT: Okay, I found what MIGHT be your diner.

It's on 3rd Avenue near 70th Street. That's not that far from the Frick.

Look, 5th Ave doesn't have restaurants and stores up in the 70s. Madison Ave. does, but they are fancier and more expensive. To get to the part of the east 70s where you might find a diner, you really need to go the Lexington Avenue or 3rd Avenue.

PJ Bernstein on 3rd and East 70th Street looks like a likely candidate.

Also look at EJ's Luncheonette on 3rd Ave. and East 73rd Street.
