My 2002 Chrysler Town&Country van has an extra humming sound in the morning when I start driving.?

It goes away once it's warmed up. It recently started and I don't know the cause. I explained to a mechanic and had him check my fan belt but was told it was fine. Could this be the tension pulley or serpentine belt. I appreciate any information from a knowledgeable experienced professional.

Unfortunately that is one of those problems that has to be heard by a mechanic when the car is cold. He could then put a mechanic type of stethoscope on parts and listen to isolate the noise when it's happening.

Drop the van off to your mechanic in the evening and have him check for the humming in the morning after it sits in his yard overnight.

    humming could be numerous things

    wheel bearing starting to go

    idler bearing on serpentine belt

    low power steering fluid

    etc

check all fluid levels..especially transmission....transmissions can act funny when cold, especially with low f or dirty fluid

take it to a local mechanic before its warmed up

were is the humming coming from. next time get out and listen to where it is coming form or the area it is loudest at. to pin point it. it will give people a better idea. just saying extra humming doesn't really help much.
