Very relieved. One prescription made the difference between misery and having trouble functioning versus being able to lead a rewarding life, advance in my career, and have far more successful relationships. When i started medication, for the first time in my life I actually enjoyed reading and watching movies.
A psychotherapist can offer cognitive therapy but often medication is needed to really get ADHD/ADD under control. You will probably need to see a board certified psychiatrist to get the prescription(s) that you need.(Yes,ADHD is biological and often genetic.)
Heads up: When people start telling you that you can manage this biological brain disorder without medication ask them which ADHD meds they've personally tried ;)
Good luck. Better days are ahead.
Good luck

See your doc. It's very treatable.
