Why did Yahoo change a perfectly fine Answers display to one that is unusable and chaotic?

They screwed up Yahoo Groups a couple weeks ago - now they have done the same here. Cursor over the 'gear' in the upper right part of this screen and "Send Feedback" - you can vote for all the previous comments or add your own. If enough complain, they will roll things back like they did in Groups.

it seems a general trend on sites living from advertising that you get a post stamp sized content on the scrolling blicking background of advertisement.. needless to say, the more the site relies on flash apps, the crappier it inevitably is with the flash being endlessly patched so that it looks like that corny blanket someone's granny in Omaha was stitching together for twenty years.

also, that idea with linking to videos seems incredibly stupid to me.. having your concurent's content on your page does not exactly help you anyhow.. remember the times when you could barely mention google search engine in this place?

That's the reason why I turned over to Yahoo CANADA. At least they still keep that old style display. Here, I'm using Steam games in order to get that old display.

Yup it isn't the greatest at all. It is in the US side only right now, so if you go to International and change to Canada, Australia, etc.. it is the old style that is easier to read.

I absolutely despise this new display. I think it is too confusing and, as you said, complex. The previous display was much better and easier to look at. This one is just too crammed and jumbled.

I have only had it since earlier today and so far I have only found a couple of irritations, but otherwise it seem ok

To confuse and discourage posts from impatient children, would be my best guess. This is a more mature scheme, the last one was too cartoonish.

Yahoo is completely out of it's mind. Look how they screwed up the Homepage!!!

the people who make the decisions have no idea of what's going on

The only real benefit I've determined so far is it that it forces those who use bots to alter their programs.
