the time it takes for a plane to change its speed from 100 m/s to 500 m/s?

the time it takes for a plane to change its speed from 100 m/s to 500 m/s with uniform acceleration in a distance of 1200m?

Pretty easy question, but I can't find which equitation to use because I'm never given acceleration

    s = 1200 = (100+500)/2*t

    t = 1200*2/600 = 2400/600 = 4.00 sec

    Use the following equation, when acceleration is not given.

    vf^2 = vi^2 + 2 * a * d

    500^2 = 100^2 + 2 * a * 1200

    500^2 – 100^2 = 2400 * a

    a = (500^2 – 100^2) ÷ 2400 = 100 m/s^2
