In the state of NM can a parent throw their 16 year old out?

    nope :) it is federeal law that the child must be 18 or 17 if the parent and child agree but at 16 you will probably lose custody or some ****

    I don't know that it's illegal to throw a 16 y/o out; but I do think that they are still RESPONSIBLE tor the behavior of that child whether living at home or NOT!!! In most states, a child is NOT considered old enough to be considered an adult until they are 17 at the earliest. IF it is YOUR child, I'd reconsider. IF it's you they are wanting to kick out, you might want to consider behaving a little better. There is NO good outcome from kicking a 16 y/o out of the house!!! The foster system sux & NO family member that knows the situation will want to step in; so I suggest compromising for atleast one MORE year!!!
